Dana Point Installation Prevent Pinhole Leaks – Saving Thousands of Dollars

Dana Point and Capistrano Beach residents have been hit hard with copper plumbing pinhole leaks.  This link goes into detail about the problem all over Southern California.

To combat this issue, this water filter installation features a chloramine removal component that eliminates the high levels of chloramines found in this city’s water supply.

Our client has avoided the expensive costs of repiping with new copper, PEX plastic pipe or using epoxy pipe lining by instead choosing our filter system to prevent new pinholes from ever forming.

This filter stops pinhole leaks from reoccurring in Dana Point, CA.

Many people think they need to repipe their entire home after they have gotten some pinhole leaks. But this is not true. You must change the water chemistry, which is the cause of the pinhole formation.

If you remove the chloramines, which cause the leaks to form, it stops the copper pipe from breaking down.

So get your leaks fixed by a plumber but then protect your infrastructure from the inside out. Have us install our chloramine removal system and you will not have a problem caused by chemicals and contaminants again.

Of course, if someone does a bad job of plumbing your home, you might have problems. But that’s another issue.

Many Reasons the Whole House Water Filtration System by Pure Elements Water is the Best

image

Hi this is Rick from Pure Elements Water and I just wanted to take a moment and express to you the top six things that any whole house or total property water system should do for you.

Beside preventing pinhole leaks, here all the reasons a whole house water filtration system is a good idea.

First and foremost you need to address the chemical concerns in your bathing and showering.

The chemicals in your bath and shower water you actually have the greatest area of exposure to those, we have our skin. We are taking these things in through breathing in the steam in our lungs. And those are direct pathways into our body of toxic chemicals that are in the water.

Ladera Ranch homeowners suffer numerous pinhole problems in their copping plumbing
You can take a shower with confidence knowing gaseous waterborne chemicals have been removed.

So the number one thing on your list for health, should always be to achieve chemical free bathing and showering.

Number two is drinking water. You want to strive for water that has the natural mineral content left in place.  And the carcinogenic chemicals and the heavy metals addressed.

And the pH is somewhere in the slightly alkaline range somewhere between maybe 7.5 and 8.5.

Whole House Complete Filtration System Orange County CA helps keep pH at neutral to alkaline levels.

Most of our health care professionals and longevity partners agree that is pretty much the sweet spot for drinking water.

Third on this list is addressing hard water issues without salt and without chemicals.

We have an environmentally sound technology that will reduce your hard water problems throughout your house without the issues that come with the old-fashioned water softeners.

And definitely we will avoid the slippery or slimy feeling characteristics and that situation where you feel like you can’t get the shampoo out of your hair.

The fourth thing is if you continue or have copper piping in your home of any age, we need to protect it from pinhole leaks.

Stop pinhole leaks in Newport Beach CA by removing chloramines.

Pinhole leaks are caused by water chemistry.

Changes over the past 10 to 15 years in the water chemistry have turned the water aggressive to the extent where it attacks copper given certain conditions.

Our systems can actually stop these pinhole leaks with no need to re-pipe or consider toxic epoxy linings.

The fifth thing is swimming pool and Jacuzzi. We want to protect the salt element and want to go ahead and reduce the staining at the water line and protect the heater and the pumps and the infrastructure.

And last but not least a total property system should always benefit your landscaping, allowing your plants to thrive with less water and less fertilizer.  And protecting your irrigation system from the damage of hard water.

Please give us a call today and we’ll be happy to talk to you about the current specials thanks so much.

PEX Plastic Pipe – UPDATE

Rick can you give us the latest update on PEX plastic pipe?

Sure.  We have been watching the PEX plastic, which has been used in California for more than 10 years now.

We know that all of the brands of PEX are introducing different levels of carcinogenic chemicals, although below the legal limit.  (Legal limits for contaminants in tap water have NOT been updated in close to 20 years!) And these things are getting into the bath and shower water and the consumption water.

PEX Plastic Pipe Orange County CA – Update on pricing and off-gassing.

We also know from a price standpoint that PEX piping has nearly doubled from re-piping a home

This makes addressing your water quality conditions with a whole house filtration and salt free water conditioning system much more affordable. You do not need to re-pipe if you change the water chemistry and remove the chloramines that cause pinhole leaks. And do it before you get pinhole leak damage. Prevent them rather than wait to repair them.

Our systems are a great way to save money and avoid the disruption and other problems that come with re-piping with plastic pipes.

Here are 8 Ways To Repair Copper Pipes

Here are 8 Ways To Repair Copper Pipes

We help prevent you from getting pinhole leaks by removing the contaminants in the water that cause the leaks to occur.

But what do you do when you have a leak already? Well, you are going to need to fix it. Chances are you will call a certified plumber and he will use one of these 8 methods to fix the leak.

Maybe you can fix your pinhole leak? This video will show you how.
  1. Two couplings and a piece of pipe. This is the number one method and up to Code.
Couplings and pipe to replace damaged copper pipe.

2. Compression couplings. This method works well for DIY people.

Compression coupling works well.

3. Sharkbite slip coupling. People use this when they are unfamiliar with soldering. And you do not need crimpers. Code approved when installed correctly.

Popular pipe repair using the Sharkbite.

4. Use a Kibosh emergency pipe repair clamp. This is only a temporary repair but it gives you enough time to schedule a plumber. They are super handy too because you don’t even need to shut off the water. Just clamp it down and you are done. They can be used over and over again. Let’s hope you don’t need to use them a lot.

For a temporary fix the Kibosh is hard to beat.

5. Solder a small hole shut. This method can be used on some pinhole leaks. It is also a temporary fix that is not Code approved.

If you know how to solder, this might work for a little while.

6. Using electrical copper wire. You tightly wrap it around the pipe and solder it. This is again not Code approved and only temporary.

Copper wire works well enough for a short time too.

7. Use Alfa tape. Obviously another temporary fix until you can get a plumber to really fix it. But this way is good if you are in a jam. The tape can take up to 100 psi and it bonds to itself. It can be hard to use if you have a lack of space to wrap it. The Kibosh is probably a better quick fix and vastly easier.

Fast repair using Alfa tape. It will not last long though if under a lot of pressure.

8. Use Freeze-Fix epoxy compound. It is a putty that is wrapped in a cloth. You cannot use them if there is water present as the epoxy will not harden. And if the hole is bigger, the water will come in contact with the epoxy. Epoxy is known to give off chemicals that can be harmful. It is not Code and messy.

While this method works for a short while, it is the least favored because it is messy and harder to work with.

In many cases, you can avoid all of this. If you live in Southern California and you are getting pinholes, stop them. Change the water chemistry that is causes them and you will not need to fix copper plumbing. We guarantee it.

Even Small Pinholes In Copper Plumbing Are Massively Destructive

The video below taken by Stewart Plumbing and Heating in Los Angeles, shows just how devastating even the tiniest pinhole leak can cause.

Pinhole leaks in copper pipes ruin drywall.

Look at all the torn out walls and damage that had to be done just to get at that tiny little leak. It’s maddening.

Tiny pinhole leak
Even a small leak causes a big mess
That is a big chunk of drywall and insulation that needs to be replaced with new

The costs are huge when these leaks get out of hand.

These leaks are being fixed but how do you keep from getting them again?

Some people replace all their copper plumbing with new copper or with PEX plastic pipe. That’s going to be expensive and unnecessary.

Some will try to use epoxy pipe lining, which is really not the right use for this. Epoxy is problematic.

Your best option is to get the leaks fixed and then install a whole house water filter with a chloramine removal capability.

Chloramines have been shown to break down the copper pipe. It is not a questions of copper pipe quality.

Chloramines also break down PEX.

So you need to remove them and change the overall water chemistry so it does not eat at your plumbing.

Plus, the high-quality water filters will deliver clean, clear water to every faucet in your home. It’s a good investment for your home plumbing infrastructure as well as your own health.

How to Test Cosmetics for Being Waterproof - This Made Me Laugh

Okay, I liked this video on YouTube.  It made me laugh.

It kind of fits along the line of what I work on.  But this isn't exactly how we do things.

Here is a little snippet but watch the whole video for the full impact.  https://youtu.be/9FltyjuGvGk

"Wow look guys, it's me Nicky, hello.

It is summer, meaning that pretty much every single makeup brand out there it's coming out with something waterproof, waterproof foundation, waterproof eyeliner, waterproof mascara.  I mean at one point: they're gonna come out with waterproof DNA.

And every single brand, every one of them, claims to have the most waterproof product on the market.

And if you know me, you know that I really love to test some of these claims and see if they're, actually any good.  If there's actually any truth to it.

So for today's video I thought it was so much fun to sit down and do a full face of waterproof flash, a long-lasting makeup product and then once I'm wearing it, really test it out.

I'm not talking about my bathroom, I'm not talking about my mom's pool. I am talking about really testing this out.

That's right, baby for this video I am traveling to Curacao to test this waterproof makeup.

And at the end of this video we will finally see which of these products are truly waterproof and which of them are not.

So before we get going, I do want to let you know that overall, my makeup tends to stay and plays very well. I feel like I have mastered the techniques to really make things last, but never did I go fully underwater.

So today is really going to show me if I should keep my head up high or sink maybe sink.

First heard about this looking for pure filters.
